Hawks and Doves in the Blue Sky: Peace and War, Cooperation and Destruction in the 21st Century
The Blue Sky Conference was held for the fifth time on 20-21 November in Budapest. The organisers were the Institute of Advanced Studies Kőszeg, the UNESCO Chair of Heritage Management and Sustainability, the University of Pannonia, Kőszeg Campus, and the ISES Foundation.
In a fast-changing and uncertain world, it is increasingly important to understand what is happening and to know what the future holds. Global challenges such as climate and geopolitical changes are making food security very topical. The world is at a crossroads, and it is up to us to decide which path to take. The conference explored the interconnections between different fields and fostered an interdisciplinary dialogue on global heritage, future literacy and innovative solutions to interconnected crises.
The conference explored the future of Europe, analysing global power shifts, focusing on the threat of war in the Ukraine conflict and the geopolitical changes caused by the arms race.
Resilience, adaptability, and resilience were the subjects of study. The speakers explored the interaction between land quality, food security and water security. Also highlighted was the critical interface between sustainability, resilience and energy strategies. Researchers presented on the interconnection of future literacy, arts and sciences.
On Monday evening, the conference participants were treated to a piano recital by Szabolcs Horváth. The student of the Music Academy was one of the winners of the Vukán Creative Art Talent Support Competition this summer.
