The Hankiss Centre and Research Archive cultivates the legacy of Elemér Hankiss and promotes his work. This includes the cataloging of his manuscripts, the publication of his most inspirational works in English, and the organization of international symposia on the Hankiss oeuvre. Researchers work in the archive to identify his key intellectual investigations like civilization crisis, life and death, and reflection on the symbols of our everyday life, taking the Hankiss legacy into the future.
This includes re-starting the Hankiss initiative of “Reinventing Central Europe!” the purpose of which was to deepen relationships between different ethnic groups in the region, promoting recovery from historic grievances in order to strengthen unity. In addition, The Pannonia Literary House will provide a venue for literary events, research and exhibitions of the West Pannon Region.
