Dion van den Berg

Dion van den Berg is currently head of the Europe team at PAX for Peace (the Netherlands). He started working for the Dutch peace movement in 1980. In the eighties, he was involved in the ‘detente from below’ campaign, that aimed at overcoming the Cold War divide in Europe. Ever since 1995, he supports the Campaign for Truth and Justice of the survivors of the genocide of Srebrenica (Bosnia and Herzegovina). He worked a lot as well on interlinking state building with peacebuilding, and processes of transitional justice in many (post)conflicts states. He is the chairperson of the Social Council in his hometown of Tilburg, an advisory body to the Tilburg local government.
