István Papp
Istvan Papp (Romania 2016, 2018, 2019) is currently his PhD at the Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, researching statistical physics models in the study of complex networks. He received a BSc in General Physics and Informatics, in advanced data analysis methods for sleep electrophysiology. For his MSc, he worked on automated and semi-automated sleep spindle detection in electrophysiology. He was young research fellow at the Institute for Social and European Studies (ISES), Kőszeg.
Topic: Advanced Sustainable Energy and Energy Economy
Our dependence on fossil fuel grows more and more, we feel the need of alternative energy sources to be accessible as soon as possible. Research is going in various directions today, but we can say that the focus is on renewable energy rather than thermonuclear energy. The Research Plan aims for studying the alternatives of advanced energy resources, investigating the potentials of building sustainable cities. Our goal is to collaborate with social scientists and economists, which is possible at iASK, and we can provide necessary knowledge that can be important in future decision making for sustainable development. We will study the physical basis of sustainable development in physics and entropy. Inertial confinement fusion research has already reached a breakthrough, we will demonstrate some alternative methods, which could prevent the formation of Rayleigh-Taylor and other instabilities. We will study the Inertial Confinement Fusion in a 2-dimensional flat system.
