The 9th International Kraft – Creative City, Sustainable Region Conference will soon take place in Veszprém, Hungary, under the title Kraft in motion, organized by the Institute of Advanced Studies Kőszeg.
The event, which will take place in Veszprém in 2023 with the support of the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture program, will focus on the theme of cultural heritage-based spatial and urban development, addressing the urban and rural development implications of the creative-cultural sector and the European Capital of Culture title, the latest 21st century challenges of culture and society, and the search for and presentation of new solutions.
The conference will feature distinguished international guest speakers and renowned experts from the national professional scene, who will give presentations and hold round-table discussions on the above-mentioned themes. The keynote speeches by international speakers will be followed by reflective presentations by experts, followed by a more in-depth discussion and a panel discussion on the topic.
The keynote speeches will explore issues such as urban and regional sustainability, creative cultural heritage, networks for cultural and social knowledge transfer, or new challenges in culture-related tourism. In addition, the conference will provide an insight into the recent results of professional projects managed by the Institute of Advanced Studies.
The conference will be linked to the Kulturális Örökség Napjai (KÖN – Cultural Heritage Days), making it a worthy cultural complement to the professional forum. In the framework of the KÖN, guests will be able to experience one of the best practices of the Kraft Methodology in action, by taking part in a walk through the city centre of Veszprém, planned by the FTI-iASK’s historian colleagues.
