As it is well known, the synagogue in K\u0151szeg was built with the support of F\u00fcl\u00f6p Schey, who went from being a retailer in K\u0151szeg to a major businessman in Vienna, and who also provided a substantial sum of money for the first kindergarten and poorhouse in K\u0151szeg. In recognition of his philanthropic activities, a street in K\u0151szeg was named after him. The street was renamed after the Second World War, but on 2nd May it will be given back its original name. After the event, our Institute will celebrate the rebuilding of the synagogue together with the Budapest Festival Orchestra.
