IASK took part in the Field Trip program initiated by the Udine Chart and the ResiliEnhance framework in November 2023. With the support of the Central European Initiative (CEI), the most significant event of the ResiliEnhance project this year (after the online training webinar in September) was the field trip organised by the University of Udine, with the primary objective of learning about local experiences of resilient capabilities. The organiser CISM (International Centre of Mechanical Science), which also hosts the UNESCO Chair on Intersectoral Safety for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience at the University of Udine, presented the steps and tools to build a knowledge base to enhance social resilience, mainly from a risk management perspective.<\/p>\n
During the ResiliEnhance Field-Trip, participants have been engaged in collaborative retrospective post-event analyses of actual disaster governance case studies, by employing an evidence-based approach. The field trip concentrated on the reconstruction efforts following the 1976 earthquake, delving into specific narratives in the Friuli Region. The analysis aimed to calibrate the Comprehensive ResiliEnhance Framework (CREF), which functions as a lens for supporting knowledge tools to enhance the capacity to address crises and adverse events, hence enhancing resilience to disasters for sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t
