Tárnok Balázs
Balázs Tárnok obtained his law degree in 2015 at Pázmány Péter Catholic University Faculty of Law and Political Sciences. He studied for one year as an Erasmus student at Radboud University in the Netherlands. In 2015, he started his Ph.D. studies at Pázmány Péter Catholic University. Balázs is expected to defend his doctoral thesis in fall 2020. His doctoral research topic is the protection of national minorities in the European Union and the European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI).
Since 2016, he has been a legal advisor at the Dr. Sobor Law Firm, where he assisted in the court proceedings of the ECI on National Minority Regions. Since 2017, he has been a legal expert of the Rákóczi Association, coordinating the Hungarian signature collection campaign of the Minority SafePack Initiative. Since 2018, he has been working at the State Secretariat for the European Union Relations of the Prime Minister’s Office. Since July 2019, he is an associate researcher at EUstrat – European Strategy Research Institute of Ludovika-University of Public Service.
