A f\u00f6ldrajz, a t\u00e1rsadalomtudom\u00e1ny \u00e9s a turizmus kapcsolat\u00e1nak elm\u00e9leti \u00e1ttekint\u00e9s\u00e9t ny\u00fajtva ez a tanulm\u00e1ny megvitatja, hogy a f\u00f6ldrajzi, gazdas\u00e1gi \u00e9s t\u00e1rsadalomtudom\u00e1nyi ismeretek kombin\u00e1ci\u00f3ja jelent\u0151sen hozz\u00e1j\u00e1rulhat a turizmus mint tudom\u00e1nyos ter\u00fclet fejl\u0151d\u00e9s\u00e9hez, \u00e9s ezen t\u00fal is hasznos lehet a k\u00f6zponti \u00e9s a helyi \u00f6nkorm\u00e1nyzatok sz\u00e1m\u00e1ra az idegenforgalom fejleszt\u00e9se \u00e9rdek\u00e9ben tett er\u0151fesz\u00edt\u00e9seikben. A f\u00f6ldrajznak r\u00e9g\u00f3ta hagyom\u00e1nya van m\u00e1s tudom\u00e1nyok eredm\u00e9nyeinek integr\u00e1l\u00e1s\u00e1ban, mind 1990 el\u0151tt, mind azt k\u00f6vet\u0151en. A f\u00f6ldrajz, a k\u00f6zgazdas\u00e1gtan \u00e9s a t\u00e1rsadalomtudom\u00e1nyok k\u00f6z\u00f6tti k\u00f6lcs\u00f6n\u00f6s csere 1990 \u00f3ta k\u00fcl\u00f6n\u00f6sen nagy hangs\u00falyt kap Magyarorsz\u00e1gon. Ez azonban nem jelenti azt, hogy a \u201ef\u00f6ldrajzi elk\u00e9pzel\u00e9s\u201d elegend\u0151 m\u00e9rt\u00e9kben be\u00e9p\u00fclt a multidiszciplin\u00e1ris ter\u00fcletre. Manaps\u00e1g ritka az olyan tudom\u00e1nyos munka, amelyben a t\u00e1rsadalomtudom\u00e1ny \u00e9s a k\u00f6zgazdas\u00e1gtan f\u00f6ldrajzi megk\u00f6zel\u00edt\u00e9sei integr\u00e1lva lenn\u00e9nek. A turizmus tal\u00e1n az elemz\u00e9s egyik ter\u00fclete, ahol ez a legk\u00f6nnyebben el\u00e9rhet\u0151.
