Episztemol\u00f3giai szempontb\u00f3l a t\u00e1rsadalomtudom\u00e1nyok, a term\u00e9szettudom\u00e1nyokkal ellent\u00e9tben, nem felelnek meg a tudom\u00e1ny uralkod\u00f3 defin\u00edci\u00f3j\u00e1nak. A „tudom\u00e1ny”, a „vizsg\u00e1lat” \u00e9s a „tanulm\u00e1nyok” kifejez\u00e9sek k\u00f6z\u00f6tt fenn\u00e1ll\u00f3 k\u00fcl\u00f6nbs\u00e9gek a t\u00e1rsadalmi szf\u00e9ra meg\u00e9rt\u00e9s\u00e9be belev\u00e1g\u00f3 \u00e9rtelmis\u00e9gi vitatott szerep\u00e9ben rejlenek. A t\u00e1rsadalomtudom\u00e1nyok „\u00e9retts\u00e9g\u00e9t” \u00e1ltal\u00e1ban az objektivit\u00e1s \u00e9s a racionalit\u00e1s \u00f6sszef\u00fcgg\u00e9s\u00e9ben t\u00e1rgyalj\u00e1k. Az episztemol\u00f3giai vit\u00e1k folytat\u00e1sa azonban nem lenne el\u00e9gs\u00e9ges a tud\u00f3sra mint embert tanulm\u00e1nyoz\u00f3 emberre val\u00f3 hivatkoz\u00e1s n\u00e9lk\u00fcl. A tudom\u00e1nyfiloz\u00f3fia f\u0151k\u00e9nt a tud\u00e1sfelhalmoz\u00e1s elj\u00e1r\u00e1saira \u00f6sszpontos\u00edtott, elhanyagolva a t\u00e1rsadalmi kontextust \u00e9s annak a kutat\u00e1sra gyakorolt hat\u00e1s\u00e1t.
