Praszkier, Ryszard (2023) Singularities in Societal Dynamics: Manifestations, Early Indicators, and Anticipation
Polányi Centre Working Paper II.2022/WP01
The Polányi Centre research probes the complexities of global challenges and the changing roles of interdependent actors in an age of increasing global uncertainties. The Centre creates a dynamic space for cross- and inter-disciplinary research, from the conceptual (in workshops and seminars) to the practical (policy recommendations), from human rights and economic inequality and globalisation to democratic challenges facing contemporary societies and social cohesion and stability. The research and application focus on the fundamental causes that underlie the current multi-faceted and inter-connected crises in Europe and the world (economic, political, environmental, technological) and their impact on human wellbeing. Special attention is paid to the under-researched and neglected region of East and Central Europe and to post-soviet countries generally in terms of history, connection to globalization and future prospects.
